Position Summary We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Director, IT SAP Finance/Commercial to own the delivery, operations, and evolution of our SAP Finance and Commercial landscape (Finance plus Order-to-Cash/Commercial capabilities) within a complex global environment. In this senior leadership role, you will be accountable for end-to-end value realization across the S/4HANA transformation and ongoing product roadmap—balancing deep domain expertise with executive partnership, people leadership, vendor/portfolio management, and budget accountability. You will serve as a primary liaison between IT and Finance/Commercial leadership, ensuring our SAP ecosystem enables growth, compliance, and scalable global operations.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, IT, or related field; MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 18+ years in SAP Finance and/or Commercial domains, with at least 10 + years leading teams and large, cross-functional programs.
  • Transformation Track Record: Proven experience leading multiple large-scale, global SAP transformations (S/4HANA preferred) across Finance and/or Commercial workstreams, including integration and cutover/hypercare leadership.
  • Business Process Depth: Deep understanding of global Finance and Commercial processes (e.g., Quote/Order-to-Cash, Billing, Revenue Recognition, Pricing/Discounting, Rebates, Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay) and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, conflict resolution, and executive presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing multi-million dollar project budgets and offshore/onshore delivery models.
  • Expertise in advanced Finance/Commercial capabilities such as Group Reporting , Central Finance , Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) , pricing/condition technique , and/or rebate management .
  • SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the multi-year roadmap for SAP Finance and Commercial (e.g., Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash), aligning priorities to enterprise strategy, transformation milestones, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Organization & People Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing SAP Finance/Commercial organization (internal teams and partners). Set the operating model, develop leadership bench strength, manage capacity planning, and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Executive Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to CFO/Finance leadership and Commercial business leaders. Translate complex technology strategy into clear business value, influence investment decisions, and drive alignment across regions and functions.
  • Portfolio, Program & Delivery Governance: Own the delivery portfolio across SAP Finance and Commercial products (projects, enhancements, and run). Establish governance, KPIs/OKRs, and controls to ensure delivery predictability, quality, and adherence to enterprise architecture standards.
  • Budget & Vendor/Partner Management: Own the SAP Finance/Commercial budget (run and change), including licensing, systems integrators, AMS, and niche vendors. Lead SOW/MSA negotiations, manage performance to SLAs, and ensure clear ROI and value delivery.
  • Risk, Controls & Compliance: Own the risk and controls posture for Finance/Commercial IT, ensuring designs and operations meet SOX, audit requirements, GDPR, and local statutory needs—including revenue, pricing, and order management control points.
  • Change Management & Adoption: Partner with Business Transformation and OCM leaders to drive global deployment readiness, training strategy, and sustained adoption across Finance and Commercial user communities.
  • Architecture & Integration Leadership: Lead design authority to resolve complex cross-domain decisions and ensure end-to-end integrity across SAP Finance, SAP Commercial (e.g., SD), and adjacent platforms (e.g., CRM, eCommerce, tax, middleware, data/analytics).
