Director, IT Cloud Architecture

The Lincoln Financial Group is seeking a Director of IT Cloud Architecture to lead its cloud-first strategy and oversee the migration of applications into cloud environments. This role is pivotal in developing and delivering the cloud strategy and architecture that supports Lincoln's enterprise cloud platform. The director will manage a team of experienced architects who will collaborate with various stakeholders, including thought leaders, Federated architects, and DevOps teams, to gather requirements, document use cases, and design new cloud services and capabilities. In this position, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a skilled team of Enterprise Cloud Architects, evolving the enterprise cloud strategy, principles, and best practices, and directing their implementation across the organization. You will define, prioritize, and promote new enterprise cloud capabilities while providing guidance on AWS architecture, services, and solutions to ensure alignment with architectural principles. Collaboration with Cloud Security, Cloud Engineering and Operations, and FinOps will be essential to guide the enterprise on its cloud journey. Additionally, you will work closely with business partners to develop use cases and document requirements for service guardrail implementations. The ideal candidate must possess excellent knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools, as well as experience deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK 2.0, CFT, and Git. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences. Extensive knowledge of cloud principles, patterns, and technologies, particularly in AWS, is crucial, along with a broad experience in infrastructure design and operation.
