About The Position

Reporting to the Senior VP, Head of Information Technology and Data Security, this position is responsible for identifying cross functional technology solutions and platforms that advance Rhythm in innovation and efficiency with the goal of being able to use the latest technologies. Among these technologies would be Artificial Intelligence solutions, Data Analytics and Reporting and Team Collaboration platforms. This role is responsible to define, implement and support technology in these areas to drive its efforts to transform the care of rare diseases of genetic obesity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years’ experience working in information technology functions.
  • 5+ years of AI experience in information-intensive industries or digitally advanced enterprises; Life Sciences experiences are a plus
  • 5+ years of data analytics in information-intensive industries or digitally advanced enterprises; Life Sciences experiences are a plus.
  • Experience in fostering innovations with technology
  • Experience working in collaboration with Senior Leadership levels
  • Ability to work independently and have strong ability to influence outcomes
  • Strong vendor management skills; experience and knowledge of available vendors in the IT space
  • Strong experience in customer communications to ensure alignment of priorities and activities
  • Experience in people management is required in managing vendors/contractors and potentially employees as Rhythm grows.
  • Broad, state-of-the-art technology awareness that can be applied creatively to business problems and opportunities
  • Expertise in investigating, negotiating and selecting outside services and technology
  • Ensure a welcoming partner-based environment throughout the company as it pertains to technology areas

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with all functional and regional leaders to understand our business and shape our artificial intelligence strategy to accelerate AI-driven innovation and transformation. This includes groups such as AI Working Committee and the Senior Management Team.
  • Work closely with all functional and regional leaders to understand and shape our data analytics strategy especially in areas where no data analytics capability currently exists.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and the Senior VP, Head of Information Technology, to develop and execute these strategies for the scope defined.
  • Create a consistent innovation pipeline and foster an innovation culture, identifying opportunities that grow business opportunities, capabilities and solutions in the scope defined.
  • Empower data analytics at an enterprise level, enabling Rhythm leadership further visibility and insights when assessing company performance
  • Manage and prioritize the AI & Analytics portfolio and budget for AI & Analytics initiatives, overseeing the allocation of resources for both current AI portfolios and long-term AI foundational capabilities.
  • Foster and cultivate AI & Analytics literacy across the enterprise
  • Acts as thought leader and subject matter expert on emerging AI & Analytics trends and technologies.
  • Manage the day-to-day support model with the vendors to ensure all in scope systems are functioning properly and working well collectively
  • Leverage outside staff and technology substantially to achieve our company goals through outsourced IT service models including support
  • Be able to work in a ‘hands on’ capacity as needed and appropriate
