About The Position

We’re looking for a Director of Issues Management, someone who’s ready to be part of a growing team with amazing opportunities. In this position, you’ll be responsible for shaping and protecting the reputation of our company, and provide strategic leadership across issues management, external communications, stakeholder engagement, and thought leadership to position the organization as a trusted authority in children's health, research and innovation and pediatric policy. You’ll also anticipate and manage high-impact issues, guide organizational responses to sensitive matters, and drive public affairs strategies that advance the mission and strategic priorities of the system across U.S. and international audiences. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, public policy, or a related field required
  • 12 years of progressive experience in public affairs, media relations, or issues management, ideally within large, complex healthcare, academic or global nonprofit organizations required

  • Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads enterprise-wide strategies to anticipate, assess, and manage emerging issues that could impact the organization’s reputation, public trust or operational priorities
  • Develops and executes integrated communications plans in coordination with executive leadership, legal, risk management, government affairs and operations teams
  • Drives public affairs communications that strengthen the organization’s influence in national and international pediatric health policy
  • Leads media strategy for national and international outlets with a focus on healthcare, business and policy media
  • Designs and implements a comprehensive thought leadership strategy that positions us and its experts as global leaders in pediatric care, innovation, and advocacy
  • Serves as a key member of the public affairs leadership team, contributing to enterprise-wide strategy and alignment
