Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience in insurance and/or investment accounting environments
  • 5+ years of experience in securities processing or investment operations
  • 2+ years of leadership or people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of investment products, including fixed income, equities, derivatives, and real estate assets
  • Solid understanding of STAT and GAAP accounting principles
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives, solve problems, and drive results

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with investment accounting systems (e.g., PAM, CAMRA, Maximis) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Investment Operations team, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management to drive a high-performing, engaged team
  • Oversee day-to-day investment accounting operations across a complex portfolio, including securities, derivatives, commercial mortgage loans, and real estate
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, corporate actions, cash activity, and reconciliations in alignment with regulatory and company standards
  • Partner with investment and finance teams to support both front and back office operations, ensuring seamless coordination and issue resolution
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting across STAT, GAAP, Tax, and Management bases, including journal entries and general ledger support
  • Support financial statement preparation, audits, and reporting for senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, implement solutions, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects critical to the organization
