About The Position

Directs all invasive cardiology staff and programs for the department. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors and physicians to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Writes and updates procedures and manuals and reviews annually to ensure that employees have current information needed to perform all interventional cardiology procedures, inclusive of Electrophysiology. Functions as a clinical education/resource nurse working collaboratively in a patient care setting to assess and address the needs of patients throughout the cardiac care continuum. Conducts daily rounds, reviews patient plan of care for core measure compliance and provides the staff with patient education materials ensuring efficient and optimal care of Cardiovascular (CV) service line patients. Identifies and refers any department issues to appropriate resources if necessary. Assures positive patient outcomes and quality of care, utilization of building connections. Participates in data collection relative to essential job functions, monitors clinical outcomes and identifies areas for performance improvement. Proactively helps plan and coordinate the efficient movement of the CV patient through the continuum of care, based on medical needs, functional ability and available resources. Develops and presents staff CV education programs based on assessed needs. The director will collaborate with all physicians taking care of identified patients.

Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement: Minimum of 5 years experience in adult critical care and cardiovascular procedures.
Must demonstrate effective communication skills, expert leadership capabilities, be detailed oriented and capable of multi-tasking and responding rapidly to changing clinical and administrative situations.
Highly motivated and self-directed, will demonstrate ability to function independently and exhibit high levels of independent problem solving skills and decision making capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office skills.
Current California RN license required.
BLS and ACLS required.
