About The Position

The International Tax Director will report directly to the VP of Global Tax. You will serve as the lead functional and technical expert for all international tax matters within the assigned geographical regions of Latin America and Europe, as well as US international tax matters related to global operations. You will provide expert-level guidance on US tax law and foreign tax laws affecting the Company's global operations.

Requirements

  • 12 years of relevant tax and management experience.
  • Experience in both public accounting and global manufacturing company preferred.
  • An undergraduate degree is required. A Master of Taxation or Law degree is highly preferred.
  • CPA or an equivalent certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert tax guidance to stakeholders on US international tax law and relevant foreign tax regulations.
  • Collaborate with Finance and business leaders to assess the tax implications of potential actions and advise on optimal tax strategies that are practical and legally sound.
  • Lead the development and implementation of international tax planning strategies within the region, including local country tax minimization strategies, structuring, and entity rationalization.
  • Manage coordination with external advisors and oversee the execution of tax strategies with internal stakeholders, analyzing their impact from both local and US tax perspectives.
  • Oversee foreign tax compliance and international aspects of US tax compliance and reporting.
  • Ensure proper filing of US informational tax forms and reports and prepare or review of tax computations for BEAT, GILTI, Subpart F, 956, 163(j), FTC, 987/988, and E&P.
  • Oversee local in-country tax compliance and address country-specific tax issues in coordination with regional headquarters.
  • Develop tax planning models to analyze potential tax and accounting impacts.
  • Assess the impact of new legislation, business restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, accounting methods or pronouncements.
  • Provide expert analysis on international tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, structuring, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Participate in and support domestic M&A tax due diligence projects as assigned.
  • Manage international tax audits and queries within the assigned region, ensuring compliance and addressing potential issues effectively.
  • Lead transfer pricing compliance and planning efforts from preparation of contemporaneous transfer pricing study documentation to working in collaboration with the shareholder companies and the business units on BEPS reporting and proper transfer pricing arrangements including intercompany sales of products, licensing and provisions of services, ensuring consistency with local and international tax regulations.
  • Contribute to the international portions of the quarterly and annual tax provision process, including US international issues and return-to-provision analysis under ASC 740.
  • Manage and develop staff, providing guidance and support for professional growth and high-level tax management.
  • Train staff as needed.
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
