As a Director, Infusion Network Contracting, you will support our infusion pharmacy business and play a key role in establishing and maintaining relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, negotiating contracts for specialty pharmaceutical products, and interacting with many internal stakeholders and business partners. This role requires solid cross functional collaboration. This role requires an advanced proficiency using MS Excel for analyses, the ability to convey complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, and someone who is adaptable, able to work independently, and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity. Solid executive presentation and communication skills are required. A successful candidate will be able to understand the impact of Optum on our industry counterparts along with developing a supplier strategy that leads the infusion pharmacy business to long term success. The right person will be able to interpret industry actions or changes back to the business to drive meaningful improvements to ensure Optum Infusion continues to lead the industry. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in account or client management in the pharmaceutical industry & contract negotiations
  • 6+ years of experience in pharmacy operation and/or business settings
  • 3+ years of experience in Infusion pharmacy operation and/or business settings
  • Advanced understanding of Infusion Pharmacy procurement methods & contracts
  • Advanced proficiency working with all MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proven ability to expand data set interpretation to evaluate large scale impacts across Optum and our industry counterparts
  • Proven ability to work independently, and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Proven ability to create and deliver presentations conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand
  • Proven ability to deliver complex or technical presentations to C-Suite Executive team in a clear and concise manner
  • Proven ability to work and partner in a cross functional matrixed environment

Responsibilities

  • Building and fostering relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and internal stakeholders and business partners
  • Lead large, complex negotiations to achieve key business objectives
  • Design and develop new pharmacy programs with supplier & business engagement
  • Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
  • Predict emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers, ensuring appropriate internal stakeholders are consulted
