We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Cloud Engineering to join our Cloud Platform Engineering organization. This role is located in New York City, Pittsburgh, or Lake Mary.

Requirements

  • 10+ years designing and operating enterprise-scale cloud platforms; 5+ years in leadership
  • Proven negotiator and influencer across business and technical domains
  • Exceptional communicator, able to present complex concepts to executives and engineers alike
  • Track record of cloud migrations/modernizations in regulated environments (financial services a plus)
  • Passion for mentoring, building inclusive teams, and driving continuous improvement
  • Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI

Responsibilities

  • Define and govern our global cloud architecture and operating model to meet business objectives, security standards, and cost targets
  • Negotiate service scope, SLAs, and roadmaps with cloud providers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Act as the primary executive liaison, balancing technical vision, budget constraints and corporate priorities to accelerate cloud adoption and modernization
  • Influence product, security, networking, compliance, and data teams to harness best-practice cloud solutions
  • Research emerging technologies (serverless, edge, cloud AI), drive POCs, and translate findings into actionable initiatives
  • Establish KPIs/SLIs/SLOs, dashboards, and playbooks for performance, reliability, and cost optimization
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a world-class team, fostering collaboration, curiosity, and a metrics-driven mindset
  • Architect and oversee IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker), and CI/CD pipelines
