Visit us online at: https://www.nwths.com/careers Position: Director - Information Services / IS Position Summary: Responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of Management Information Services and for the ongoing assessment and improvement of the Management Information Services department activities. Such responsibilities encompass not only the internal functioning of the Management Information Services department, but also the integration of the Management Information Services department into the overall functioning of NWTHS. Responsible and accountable for information design and strategic planning, technology evaluation and acquisition, application management, help desk/troubleshooting, information integrity and security, medical informatics and clinical use of data. Lead the IT department and staff and optimize use of operating and capital financial resources to ensure efficient operation and proper support of clinical and administrative functions. Performs all duties with accord to the mission, vision, and values of NWTHS. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 5 years in Healthcare IS preferred
  • 3 years management/leadership/supervisory experience required
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of computer systems, operations, programming languages, system analysis, design and equipment is required
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to speak and hear, to allow discussions with employees and peers
  • Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress
  • Ability to respond to pages
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
  • Bending and lifting (5-10 lbs), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial data

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5 years in Healthcare IS preferred

  • Demonstrates leadership in the provision of departmental services through a collaborative process designed to integrate services/functions throughout NWTHS. Participate in an supports a process to measure, assess, and improve performance of management, clinical, and/or support services.
  • Exhibits effective leadership skills through planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating departmental functions in relation to the UHS and the NWTHS vision, mission, strategic goals and values and in accordance with JCAHO’s leadership standards.
  • Operates departments of responsibility in such a way as to meet the fiscal goals of the organization. Implements value added programs and services. Manages the satisfaction of department customers to include patients, employees and physicians through effective communication and appropriate responsiveness to customer issues.
