The Director of Infection Prevention directs and monitors the Infection Prevention Program in accordance with Infection Prevention regulations and plans. This role involves developing policies governing the control of infections and communicable diseases, implementing these policies, and creating a system for identifying, reporting, investigating, and preventing infections. The Director oversees adherence to standards of practice, protocols, and procedures, and coordinates services with other units and agencies related to infection prevention. Additionally, the Director advises leadership by interpreting changes in county, state, or federal regulations relating to infection prevention requirements and assumes other responsibilities delegated by the Chief Nursing Officer.
