About The Position
The Director of Infection Prevention at Trident Medical Center plays a crucial role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing the hospital-wide Infection Prevention Program. This position involves coordinating various activities such as surveillance, analysis, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections. The Director is responsible for educating staff and developing health system policies and procedures that uphold rigorous infection control standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaboration with the Infection Prevention (IP) Committee is essential, as the Director makes key decisions regarding the surveillance, prevention, and control of infections and blood-borne pathogens. In this role, the Director of Infection Prevention will develop and maintain policies and procedures that support successful quality and patient safety outcomes. This includes identifying areas for improvement and coordinating regulatory compliance programs in accordance with federal, state, and local agencies. The Director will also be involved in the continuous improvement of healthcare delivery to patients, ensuring that the highest standards of infection prevention are met throughout the organization.
