About The Position

The Director of Infection Prevention (IP) is responsible for leading, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of infection prevention and control within VHC Health. The individual in this position is responsible for the health and safety of patients, staff, providers, contractors and visitors regarding the identification and / or prevention of nosocomial infections and exposure to communicable diseases, through utilization of OSHA standards and CDC guidelines. This role involves developing policies, educating staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards to minimize the risk of infection. The Director will work collaboratively with various departments to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement in infection control practices. The Director will manage staff within the IP Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field required.
  • 5 years of experience in Infection Prevention required.
  • 3 years of management experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Nursing, Public Health, or a related field preferred.
  • Graduate in an Accredited Medical School preferred.
  • Graduate from an Accredited Physician Assistant Program preferred.
  • 2 years of Aseptic Technique preferred.
  • 2 years of Data Analytics preferred.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions preferred.
  • Compact State Licensure in Nursing.

Responsibilities
