As director, Sourcing for categories like Food, Beverage, Packaging and Merchandise, you'll lead a high-performing team of sourcing professionals to deliver best-in-class strategies that drive value, innovation, and impact across a multi-billion-dollar spend portfolio. Requirements

  • Team leadership and people management - 10 years
  • Global strategic sourcing/ procurement experience, preferably in a high growth, retail/manufacturing/CPG environment - 12 years
  • Advanced analytical skills, adept in business planning, financial management, and budget management
  • Market leading knowledge of global market analysis, macro-economic drivers, sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management, strategic vendor alliance programs, 'should-cost' models, and multi-year negotiation strategies, supplier continuous improvement programs/Lean Initiatives
  • Knowledge of critical sourcing legal requirements and contracting best practices

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision - Set clear goals and develop a compelling vision for best-in-class strategic sourcing across a book of business the makes Starbucks run. Build and lead global sourcing teams, elevating organizational capability. Influence internal stakeholders up to the executive level and external industry leaders. Deliver enterprise value that delivers to the top and bottom line.
  • Planning & Execution - Develop and implement multi-year strategic and operational plans aligned with company objectives. Manage execution, measure results, and drive systematic change across the organization.
  • Functional Expertise & Business Requirements - Design and execute sourcing strategies across technology, services, and logistics. Champion corporate social responsibility and supplier diversity programs. Operate effectively in high-growth, high-risk environments.
  • Supplier Engagement & Relationship Management - Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers and industry players. Drive continuous supplier performance improvement and influence external standards.
  • Talent Development & Team Building - Coach, develop, and inspire teams to achieve higher performance. Ensure compliance, oversee training, and make effective staffing decisions.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.
  • For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
