About The Position

The Director of Implementation & Delivery Management, AEC is the technical visionary for AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) in the Americas region. This leader is responsible for the "how" of the implementation—ensuring that our AEC software is configured, integrated, and deployed to solve the customer’s most complex engineering challenges. They manage a high-performing team of Solution Architects and Implementation Consultants, focusing on technical excellence, resource profitability, and product adoption to ensure that AEC infrastructure projects and workflows are executed with surgical precision.

Requirements

  • Experience and Strategic Leadership: 8+ years in Professional Services, with at least 5 years specifically leading technical teams (Architects/Engineers) in a SaaS or AECO consulting environment.
  • Deep AECO Technical Domain: Expert knowledge of ERP/BIM/VDC workflows, Autodesk/Bentley/Trimble ecosystems, and the technical lifecycle of construction projects.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of Gross Margin and Utilization. You understand how technical inefficiencies directly impact the P&L.
  • Systems Expert: High proficiency in PSA (Professional Services Automation) tools (e.g. Kantata) for tracking billable hours and resource skills.
  • Legal/Contractual: Experience reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs) and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Architecture.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed domestically to support customer and project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Governance & Solution Integrity
  • Architectural Oversight: Serve as the final authority on solution design. Ensure that technical configurations for AEC customers are scalable and align with industry standards (BIM, Digital Twins).
  • Technical Risk Management: Identify potential technical "dead ends" or custom code risks early in the lifecycle. Lead the technical "Blueprints" and "Technical Readiness" reviews.
  • Product-to-Service Loop: Act as the primary liaison to the Product team, advocating for features that reduce technical implementation friction and eliminate the need for custom workarounds.
  • Resource Management & Technical Utilization
  • Technical Capacity Planning: Work closely with the Sr. Manager of AECO Resource & Project Management to manage resource allocation, ensuring the right technical talent is assigned to the right projects based on skill set and time zone.
  • Utilization Targets: Own the Billable Utilization metrics for the delivery team, balancing employee burnout with corporate profitability targets.
  • Skills Gap Analysis: Regularly assess the technical competencies of the delivery team and partner with the Enablement team to fill gaps in internal tech advancements as well as emerging industry tech.
  • Billable Utilization: Own the regional utilization targets. You are responsible for ensuring the technical team is productive and that their time is accurately captured and billed.
  • Skillset Development: Identify emerging AECO tech trends (e.g., AI in construction) and ensure the delivery team is trained and certified to implement them.
  • Commercial Support, Scoping and Project Health
  • SOW Technical Validation: Partner with the Manager of Professional Services Business Development, AECO to validate the technical feasibility of Statements of Work. Ensure the services quoted match the customer's actual technical environment.
  • Technical Scoping: Lead the discovery phase for complex deals to define technical requirements, data migration strategies, and integration points.
  • Project Health Oversight: Conduct regular "Red Account" reviews and project audits. Act as the final line of defense for delivery quality, ensuring that scope creep is managed and technical debt is avoided.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify systemic risks in the delivery process and implement global mitigation strategies to protect project margins and timelines.
