Illumina Lab Services (ILS) Strategy team is looking to hire a Director, ILS Strategy Management to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for driving the Strategy Management aspects of Illumina Laboratory Services (ILS). The team is responsible for formulating and overseeing the strategic technical direction for ILS to deliver on business objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining a technical roadmap while building consensus in a highly matrixed organization. This role will partner closely with R D, Corporate Marketing and Sales to align on technical and business strategies to drive Illumina technologies into the laboratories.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive growth in management in strategic or technical operations
• Prior experience in assessing marketing opportunities and feeding input into a technical or portfolio roadmap
• Experience with financial modeling and synthesizing opportunities through immediate and long-term financial impacts
• Familiarity with driving strategic pricing structures to support a variety of customer types
• Creating and driving content for Executive Leaderships teams that demonstrate clear business objective
• Demonstrated experience in distilling complex strategies into key actionable activities across several functions
• Experience developing, Improving, Communicating KPI's metrics for the organization focused on opportunity management
• Proven leader having had direct reports in multiple locations and building high performing teams
• Ability to communicate effectively and build consensus with different levels of the organization
• BA/BS required, Biology or related field preferred, MBA, preferred
• Biology/health care work experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Create and drive the Technology Roadmap and strategy for Global ILS
• Work with global internal ILS partners in Development, Operations, Bioinformatics, Software, and Quality to build consensus and alignment on technology roadmap as well as ensuring successful handover.
• Drive strategic alignment within SAGA for ILS direction and focus, including representing ILS Strategy to SAGA exec leadership.
• Inform and influence executive leadership on key business strategies
• Partner with Corporate Strategy to identify and align on new business opportunities for strategic utilization of ILS
• Represent ILS to key customers for partnership and contract negotiations
• Collaborate closely with Illumina departments in R D to drive timely adoption of appropriate Illumina technologies into the Services lab
• Stay abreast of external trends in marketplace and competitive position of Illumina and ILS technologies
• Partner with global Medical and Scientific affairs to support ILS and Illumina goals.
• Align ILS activities with global and regional marketing to support ILS service success.
• Collaborate with global commercial operations teams to understand and utilize shared best practices.
• Identify and communicate needs of the ILS Strategy Management organization and effectively influence the organization to achieve desired results
• Provide regular updates to Sr Director and VP on strategic activities and alignments
• Develop team member(s) and invest in their career development by ensuring each team member is learning and growing
• Experience building successful business cases representing multimillion dollar projects.
