About the position

The Director of Identity and Access Management (IAM) will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of IAM and related technologies across MGM Resorts International. Serving as a technical expert in identity management, authentication, directory services, and PKI across hybrid environments, this role will also provide strategic leadership to a high-performing team of IAM analysts, engineers, and architects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, self-motivated professional with strong interpersonal skills, capable of driving the enterprise IAM strategy, embracing emerging technologies, and operating effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, architecture, and global management of IAM and Directory Services, staying current with industry trends and internal system changes to ensure secure, reliable operations.
  • Evaluate, develop, and test IAM technologies, providing cost-effective recommendations aligned with business and IT requirements.
  • Offer ongoing technical guidance to operational teams for proactive system monitoring, management, and support.
  • Collaborate effectively with InfoSec, IT, and business stakeholders to align IAM initiatives with broader organizational goals.
  • Lead Level 3 support for operational issues, utilizing monitoring tools and custom scripts to ensure IAM environment health.
  • Oversee root cause analysis, incident response, maintenance, upgrades, and post-mortem reviews to maintain system stability.
  • Direct teams in the proactive monitoring and management of IAM infrastructure and related services.
  • Design, engineer, implement, and manage IAM technologies and integrations.
  • Advise IT partners on configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of applications requiring IAM integration.
  • Ensure service quality from internal and external partners, identifying optimization opportunities and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support IAM and InfoSec objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT and Information Security, with a focus on IAM platforms and team leadership.
  • Proven success in building, deploying, and managing enterprise IAM strategies and solutions.
  • Hands-on expertise with IAM tools (e.g., SailPoint, Okta, Azure AD, BeyondTrust, Ping Identity).
  • Skilled in IAM operations, application onboarding, audit response, and access lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting hybrid/cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and integrating IAM with enterprise systems.
  • Strong background in incident management, root cause analysis, and Level 3 support.
  • Effective leader with experience mentoring technical teams and collaborating across InfoSec, IT, and business units.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills in fast-paced environments.
