About The Position

Advanced Acoustic Concepts, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Thales Defense & Security Inc., is a technical leader in the fields of sonar systems, sonar signal processing, acoustic training systems, and open architecture system and software integration. The venture focuses on emerging areas in the undersea warfare domain where the customer has identified mission-critical needs. This position is for a Director I Operations located in Lemont Furnace, PA (Uniontown area). The role involves directing all activities related to manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated performance implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven track record solving complex issues, driving risk assessments, root cause evaluations and red to green action planning
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and monitor execution of manufacturing schedules
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the operation
  • Develop budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectives
  • Develop and implement short- and long-range objectives, consistent with company strategic initiatives
  • Participate in the preparation and/or review of proposals for new business based upon RFP/RFQ requirements
  • Coordinate operations and communications within, between, and among various functional areas
  • Ensure operations conform to the company's policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations
  • Establish, monitor, and ensure satisfactory customer and public relations, either through direct contact or delegation
  • Engage in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling
  • May also have supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate customer and business meetings
  • Ensure key performance objectives are measured, monitored, and improved
  • Actively participate on and lead group & corporate initiatives
  • Ability to work a 4/10 schedule, (Monday-Thursday 10 hours per day) during standard operating hours
