About The Position
The Newscast Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions. This role involves supervising and assigning duties to workers engaged in technical control and production of programs. The Newscast Director observes pictures through monitors and directs camera/video staff concerning composition, acting as a liaison between engineering and production departments. They work closely with news producers to deliver a clean and high-energy newscast, train camera and CG operators on proper operation during live broadcasts, switch video sources, and provide direction simultaneously during live broadcasts. Additionally, the Newscast Director tests equipment to ensure proper operation and performs other duties as assigned.
