About The Position

Applies broad knowledge of sophisticated analytics techniques to manipulate large structured and/or unstructured data sets in order to generate insights to inform business decisions. Identifies new strategic opportunities for use of theoretical methods and tools. Applies forward looking thinking to inform methodological advancement. Drives innovations in the application and development of tools and practices. Identifies and tests hypotheses, ensuring statistical significance, and builds predictive models for business application. Translates quantitative analyses and findings into accessible visuals for non-technical audiences, providing a clear view into interpreting the data. Enables the business to make clear tradeoffs between and among choices, with a reasonable view into likely outcomes. Responsible for larger components of highly complex projects. Guides aspects of project design as a technical consultant for the team. Customizes analytic solutions to specific client needs. Regularly engages with the data science community, may lead cross functional working groups. Collaborates directly with other US Data Science teams including Complex Components, Demand and Decision Science, and Modeling Sophistication; Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Science, Technology Management or similar quantitative field
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Director I, Data Science-related occupation
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of predictive analytic techniques
  • Demonstrated expert skills in Excel
  • Demonstrated expert skills in at least one statistical software package amongst SAS, R, Python, or Emblem
  • Demonstrated ability to connect analytical design and results to business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical internal business partners
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead complex analytical workstreams
