About The Position

Kennametal Inc. is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their team in Pittsburgh, PA. This senior-level position is crucial for improving business and talent performance within the organization. The Director will act as a thought leader to executives, particularly aligned with the Infrastructure Business Segment, which generates approximately $800 million in revenue and employs around 3,000 individuals across 19 plants. The role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive global talent and organizational strategy that addresses the most pressing talent opportunities and challenges at a strategic level. The Director will partner closely with the Infrastructure Business Segment President and Business Unit Leaders to create value for the business through effective organizational and people-related strategies. This includes developing a 2-3 year talent strategy that aligns with the overall business strategy, identifying barriers, prioritizing deliverables, and building necessary organizational capabilities. The position requires a deep understanding of business strategies to enhance alignment and drive performance through innovative talent management solutions. Key responsibilities include coaching senior leaders to improve their leadership abilities and interpersonal communication, advocating for talent management and development, identifying talent gaps, and deploying plans for succession, talent acquisition, and organizational design. The Director will also champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, drive employee engagement, and facilitate the sharing of best practices across functions. Utilizing data analytics to inform decision-making and problem-solving is a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that HR services are aligned with internal client needs.
