About The Position

The Director of the Hudson Hub One Stop Student Services Center at Hudson County Community College is responsible for overseeing the establishment and operation of a comprehensive student services center. This role involves managing staff, enhancing student experiences, and ensuring the delivery of essential services to a diverse student population. The Director will lead the preparation and execution of the center's functions, focusing on integrated support across various student services areas.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in student services, including at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of student services functions, including Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Registration and Continuing Education.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex issues with professionalism.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an urban community college setting.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in student services and workforce development.
  • Previous experience working or leading in a One Stop Student Services Center or similar service center.
  • Experience with Ellucian Systems, including Colleague and Recruit, as well as EAB Navigate and Laserfiche.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Arabic.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Hudson Hub, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Student Services Assistants and Assistant Directors.
  • Identify and deliver professional development for Hudson Hub staff.
  • Develop and implement strategic goals and objectives for the Hudson Hub in alignment with the college's mission, vision, and values.
  • Enhance the student experience by providing comprehensive and accessible support services.
  • Promote a student-centered approach to service delivery.
  • Continuously assess, evaluate, and improve upon the student experience.
  • Evaluate and refine existing services and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design and implement new programs and initiatives to address emerging student needs.
  • Foster strong working relationships with academic departments and faculty.
  • Collaborate closely with functional leaders to ensure well-trained staff.
  • Serve as a key liaison between students and the college administration.
  • Prepare and present reports on performance, student outcomes, and service utilization.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
