About The Position

The Director of HRIS and Compensation at Community College of Philadelphia plays a pivotal role in the HR leadership team, reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Human Resources. This position is responsible for overseeing and providing expertise in the compensation and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) functions. The Director manages the configuration of HR systems and applications to align with ongoing business needs and develops comprehensive reporting to support various HR functions, including compensation, compliance, performance management, and workforce analytics. In this role, the Director leads the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures for both faculty and staff positions. This includes managing common compensation functions such as job evaluations, salary structure development, incentive plan design, and faculty salary calculations. The Director is also tasked with ensuring that compensation programs drive performance while adhering to all collective bargaining agreements. The position requires a strategic approach to identify and lead activities that enhance efficiencies, automation, standardization, and the adoption of best practices in HRIS, workforce analytics, and reporting. The Director ensures that proper documentation and audit processes are established and followed, consulting with College leadership on compensation program development and interpretation. Additionally, the Director is responsible for maintaining compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding assets, and ensuring the reliability of internal and external reporting related to HRIS and compensation operations. The Director will also design, maintain, and communicate the College's compensation philosophy, pay structures, and salary grades, while performing audit activities to ensure the accuracy of employee data in HRIS systems. Collaboration with Information Technology Services (ITS), internal stakeholders, and external vendors is essential to ensure successful systems integrations and upgrades. The Director will oversee the job classification processes, provide oversight of the full-time faculty salary calculation process, and direct data collection and analysis for market pay equity and other compensation studies. This role also involves conducting research on market competitiveness and compensation trends, ensuring timely responses to employee inquiries regarding HRIS systems, and developing training and guidance for direct reports.
