About The Position

The Director of Communications for Human Resources at the University of Rochester is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of effective communication strategies that support the medical center and academic programs. Requirements

  • Experience overseeing HR/Internal communications (preferred).
  • 3 years of supervisory or management experience (preferred).
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a matrixed work culture.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Solid understanding of traditional and emerging communications technologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and editing content for target audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of an integrated communication plan for the HR Strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with HR program managers to evaluate and optimize communication resources.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR issues management and ensure open communication.
  • Develop strategies for recruitment marketing and align communications with the university's strategic plan.
  • Supervise communications staff and support their understanding of HR strategies and policies.
  • Manage a portfolio of communications projects for complex HR initiatives.
  • Develop and execute communications plans for major HR programs and changes.
  • Ensure the HR website is regularly updated and maintains a high-quality digital presence.
