Progyny is seeking a strategic and results-driven Healthcare Product Counsel to support new strategic initiatives and product development and commercial growth. This role manages a team of two and is responsible for driving measurable value, instilling trust, and developing cross-functional relationships built on expert legal advice. The Healthcare Product Counsel will collaborate with other members of the legal team and our product, engineering, and technology teams to ensure a high level of regulatory compliance in the development of new product offerings.

  • Coordinate and consult with Legal colleagues to ensure alignment across departmental initiatives incorporating multiple legal perspectives.
  • Guide and advise Product, Engineering, Technology and other operational teams across the entire product development lifecycle, from concept through launch.
  • Draft, revise, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including vendor and partner agreements, ensuring appropriate consideration is made for legal requirements and business objectives to support product growth.
  • Develop and share healthcare and legal expertise with others, including disseminating best practices, playbooks and templates.
  • Provide solution-oriented legal advice and guidance to business stakeholders on a broad range of legal issues, including product, regulatory compliance, and various contracts.
  • Stay current on federal and state laws and regulations impacting the Progyny suite of products, providing solutions-oriented advice and guidance.
  • Must currently possess a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school and be a member in good standing of at least one state bar.
  • Subject matter expertise in healthcare compliance, specifically around fully insured health or disability products.
  • 5-7+ years of healthcare contracting and compliance experience within health plan/insurance or healthcare industries.
  • Strong skills in contract review and negotiation, collaboration, and relationship management, with the ability to influence key stakeholders effectively.
  • Expertise in presenting complex information and insights in ways that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and people management experience.
  • Proven ability to define goals, create action plans, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
