About The Position

The Director of Healthcare Policy serves as a strategic leader advocating for clients’ interests within the healthcare industry by shaping public policy and influencing legislative outcomes. This role involves collaborating with lawmakers, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders to advance healthcare priorities and ensure regulatory compliance. You will develop and execute government relations strategies, provide policy guidance to clients, and monitor legislative developments that could impact operations. The position requires clear communication, strategic planning, and relationship-building skills to strengthen advocacy efforts. Some travel may be required to engage with clients, stakeholders, and government representatives. The role offers an opportunity to impact healthcare policy at local, state, and national levels while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in healthcare management, administration, or related field; JD preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare policy, government relations, or regulatory affairs
  • Executive presence with a poised, credible, and confident approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
  • CRCR certification required within the first 9 months of employment
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with policymakers and industry stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for clients’ interests by influencing public policy and legislation and participating in state-level rule-making activities
  • Support clients in developing and executing government relations strategies, tailored to industry-wide or client-specific needs
  • Establish and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, and professional associations to amplify client visibility and influence
  • Educate clients on regulatory compliance, ensuring they navigate complex federal and state healthcare regulations
  • Craft clear and effective messaging for clients’ goals and initiatives, representing them in communications with government and public stakeholders
  • Develop and implement strategic government relations plans, identifying key legislative priorities and action steps
  • Monitor legislative developments, prepare analysis and reports, and provide feedback to clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other organizations, coalitions, and advocacy groups to enhance policy influence and drive collective outcomes
