About The Position
New Jersey American Water is seeking a health and safety professional to join our operations. Health and Safety is the core value that drives everything we do at American Water. The Health and Safety Director is a statewide role that will be responsible for administering programs and executing business initiatives throughout New Jersey. With a strong field presence, the Director will oversee job observations, safety audits, incident investigations and other health and safety related matters. The Director, Health & Safety (Ops) will be overall responsible for driving and managing Health & Safety initiatives/programs for State Operations, including metrics, safety apps, contractor safety, training, PSM and audits (compliance reviews). The role will have direct reporting to the VP of Operations and matrix reporting to the Corporate Director of Health & Safety.
