About The Position

The Director and Head of Marketing Automation at Manulife/John Hancock will lead the optimization and growth of outbound marketing technology platforms, focusing on creating exceptional digital-first experiences for customers. This role involves collaborating with various marketing teams to develop digital marketing strategies that enhance customer journeys, brand awareness, and engagement. The Director will also oversee a team of specialists, ensuring effective partnerships across departments and driving innovation in marketing technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in marketing technology, digital marketing, or related fields, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of various MarTech tools and platforms (e.g., Adobe, CRM, marketing automation, analytics).
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and generate actionable insights, with experience in analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau).
  • Excellent project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills to guide and motivate cross-functional teams, managing and resolving conflicts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with generative AI and machine learning for personalization.
  • Familiarity with digital governance and frequency capping in marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Automation & Performance Marketing team to support outbound marketing technology platforms and digital engagement activities.
  • Create a full-funnel approach to drive tailored customer journeys powered by connected data.
  • Understand business requirements and use cases, translating them into implementable technical solutions with technology teams.
  • Empower business partners to create digital marketing strategies leveraging customer-centric omnichannel journeys.
  • Ensure clear workflows, intake, prioritization, resource management, and reporting for digital marketing activities.
  • Scale and grow the journey design practice by providing coaching in marketing technology best practices.
  • Partner with Advanced Analytics to explore new models for increased personalization and dynamic content.
  • Collaborate with vendor partners for continued education and upskilling in marketing technology.
