About The Position

Directs and oversees all aspects of Golf Operations including its activities and relationships between members, their guests, team members and community for, Shark's Tooth & The Third, Camp Creek & Performance Center, and, Origins Golf Club. Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) implementing and monitoring annual budget, hiring, training and supervising all team members, monitoring the quality of course conditions in collaboration with Agronomy team, ensuring Forbes standards of service delivery, along with optimal player satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Multi-course facilities may require more experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to run a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation
  • Must have supervisory, coaching and team development experience
  • Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
  • Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
  • Ability to multitask depending on project and prioritize based on urgency
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest standards in a private club environment.
  • Ability to interact with team members and member inquiries in a pleasant friendly way, demonstrating tolerance in inclusivity.
  • Ability to read, write and speak and communicate in basic English is necessary.

  • PGA Certified Professional preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses for operations departments.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting of all financial and non-financial information as directed, requested or required by Watersound Club/St. Joe representatives.
  • Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
  • Develops, maintains and administers sound organizational plans and initiates improvements as necessary.
  • Maintains membership with the PGA and CMAA and other professional associations.
  • Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
  • Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facilities physical assets.
  • Coordinates marketing programs designed to promote the facility’s services to potential customers.
  • Implements policies and procedures for the Golf and Performance Center, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and delivering corrective actions to team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manages department team members that may include, but is not limited to: Head Professional, Tournament Coordinator, Director of Instruction and Golf Services Manager(s).
  • Ensure that effective orientation and training are given to each new team member.
  • Develops ongoing training programs, including adherence to Forbes standards.
  • Adhere to Watersound Club/St. Joe travel and credit card policy, ensuring appropriate approvals in advance of expenditure and travel.
  • Maintain inclusion and fairness for Watersound Club Members and Team as it relates to Golf Tournaments, Golf Events and Golf Group Travel, if any.
  • Ensure timely communication to Membership to foster optimal participation, member value and member satisfaction.
  • Ensure golf projects are submitted through St. Joe’s RFC process and acquire proper approvals.
  • Create team development plans to grow bench strength, continuously improving retention and morale.
