About The Position

The Director Global Sustainability leads sustainability initiatives focused on operations in collaboration with teams in the United States and Canada. This includes, but is not limited to, energy efficiency efforts, data research, analysis and reporting, as well as managing all administrative aspects of sustainability projects and programs, while ensuring accurate communication with internal and external stakeholders. The Global Sustainability Director supports value creation in sustainability through cross-functional collaboration and demonstrates Agropur's progress by improving sustainability performance for various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environment, science, agronomy, engineering, or a related sustainability field required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project administration or coordination required.
  • Experience in environmental management (energy, water, waste, emissions) and/or environmental health and safety is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the global agri-food industry is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of management and departments.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ability to create an environment where people feel valued and capable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead energy efficiency efforts for Agropur's operations in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Manage energy efficiency roadmaps and secure external funding for projects.
  • Oversee all related administrative activities.
  • Travel to plants in the U.S. and Canada to conduct energy audits and collect data.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Agropur facilities.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to support operational improvements aligned with ESG goals.
  • Lead deliverables related to Agropur's emissions reduction, including roadmap development and data management.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to implement processes supporting ESG data governance.
  • Support efforts to collect, store, validate, and submit data for external disclosures.
  • Work with corporate stakeholders to develop and implement relevant reporting projects.
  • Represent the organization in internal/external working groups and committees.
  • Improve internal control processes to ensure accuracy of ESG indicators.
  • Coordinate ESG responses and evidence for stakeholders.
  • Translate strategic plans into concrete daily actions.
  • Obtain quotes for projects and collaborate with contractors and suppliers.
  • Perform other related duties.
