We are searching for a Director Global Sourcing to join our team located at our headquarters in Lake Forest, IL. The Director, Global Sourcing, will act as a critical bridge between global commercialization and procurement, ensuring sourcing decisions align with overall category strategies and supplier capabilities. This role influences up to $500 million in annual spend, spanning contract manufacturers, co-packers, and four business units. The ideal candidate will excel at building trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while developing and executing strategies that enhance business performance. They will have a proven track record of negotiating complex agreements that deliver measurable value, as well as driving initiatives focused on continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and financial performance across manufacturing partners. Leveraging data analytics, this leader will guide strategic decision-making, deliver cost savings targets, and identify opportunities for competitive advantage. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required
  • Minimum 10 years of professional category management or related procurement experience.
  • At least 5 years managing multi-plant spend exceeding $200MM.
  • Proven experience managing international vendors, with a strong focus on supplier relationships in Asia and South America.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to execute supplier changes and/or cost savings in complex supplier and plant networks.
  • Deep expertise in procurement category management, supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong proficiency in contract redlining and knowledge of commercial/legal contractual terms.
  • Advanced project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously from inception through execution.
  • Proficiency in using data and analytics to influence business decisions.
  • High professional and ethical standards with strong attention to detail and organizational discipline.
  • Team-oriented mindset, thriving in collaborative, high-performance environments.
  • Willingness to travel international up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, champion, and implement global sourcing strategies aligned with business goals and supplier capabilities.
  • Create and present comprehensive financial business cases to leadership to secure alignment on strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Assess and mitigate category risks by engaging internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver optimal solutions and continuous improvements.
  • Identify and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and process improvements, leading cross-functional teams from concept to implementation.
  • Analyze spend data to design bids incorporating total cost of ownership; execute complex negotiations and redline agreements in partnership with Legal.
  • Monitor and analyze markets, competitive intelligence, and pricing trends; provide actionable market insights to inform category strategies.
  • Lead change management initiatives that align with category strategy, driving synergies and consistent execution across the organization.
  • Develop and implement supplier KPIs; regularly track scorecards to monitor performance, drive accountability, and enable continuous improvement.
