About The Position

The Director of Global Procurement Operations at McKinsey & Company is a key leadership role responsible for developing and implementing the firm's vision for Sourcing, Contracting, and Purchasing (S2P). This position focuses on ensuring that the value identified by Category Management is fully realized and sustained through integrated processes and critical controls. The Director will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance supplier due diligence, drive regulatory compliance, and leverage automation and AI to improve efficiency in procurement operations.

Requirements

  • University degree in STEM or Supply Chain; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in category management.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire diverse teams.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and financial principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing senior leadership relationships.
  • Skilled in negotiation with a track record of securing favorable contract terms.
  • Collaborative style with the ability to motivate teams in a distributed environment.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Extensive experience managing and optimizing S2P processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the firm's vision for Sourcing, Contracting, and Purchasing (S2P) and implement a strategic roadmap.
  • Collaborate with category leaders and senior business leaders to integrate category management with sourcing and purchasing processes.
  • Enhance supplier due diligence and implement critical S2P processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Leverage automation and AI to improve efficiency in contracting and sourcing-purchasing hand-offs.
  • Monitor and optimize key performance indicators for sourcing and purchasing to meet business objectives.
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives to streamline the S2P process.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent by fostering a culture of continuous growth and development.
  • Partner with Risk and Environmental Social and Governance Leaders to cultivate responsible buying capabilities.
  • Stay current on macroeconomic issues, regulations, and industry trends that may impact the department.
