About The Position

The Director, Global Public Policy and Multilateral Engagement is a pivotal role responsible for fostering and maintaining robust relationships with multilateral and international organizations, as well as industry partners, to advance the company's policy and business objectives on critical industrial policy issues. This position requires a deep understanding of pharmaceutical policy issues, including intellectual property rights, global trade, and innovation incentives. The Director will leverage their extensive global and political network to align with the company's global public policy priorities and will be expected to react swiftly to actions from international organizations that may impact the company's interests. Reporting to the Executive Director of Multilateral Engagement and Global Public Policy, the Director will collaborate across the Global Public Policy organization and country policy teams to mitigate multilateral policy risks while seizing opportunities for the company's business. As a subject matter expert on industrial policy issues, the Director will represent the company in engagements with international organizations, contributing to the development and execution of industry-wide agendas on these matters. The role involves maintaining working relationships with key multilateral organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as well as industry associations like IFPMA, to promote the company's innovation, intellectual property, and trade objectives. The Director will also monitor policy trends and shifts in multilateral sentiment regarding pharmaceutical industry concerns, proactively developing and executing cross-functional, global-regional-local plans to mitigate risks to the business. This includes communicating the company's policy positions, building and maintaining relationships with international organizations and industry associations, and preparing senior leadership for interactions with these entities. The role may require travel to engage with leaders of international organizations and government officials at global policy events.
