About The Position

The primary purpose of the Director, Global Maintenance Engineering is to lead the development and deployment of Ball Global's Maintenance Pillar within the Ball Operational Excellence system, focusing on asset wellness, setting global strategy, and innovating to enhance asset uptime and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in developing and implementing global maintenance strategies for manufacturing equipment and resources
  • Minimum 8 years experience in leadership and project management skills to coordinate global maintenance planning cycles, manage capital budgets, and oversee the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Minimum 7 years experience of collaborating across regions and functional areas, particularly in integrating Center of Excellence (COE) with Business Operational Excellence (BOE) pillars
  • Demonstrated skills in: collaboration across regions and functional areas, particularly in integrating Center of Excellence (COE) with Business Operational Excellence (BOE) pillars
  • Demonstrated skills in: problem solving / total quality skills
  • Demonstrated skills in: planning and project management

Responsibilities

  • Develop global maintenance strategy for Ball manufacturing, prioritizing cost competitiveness and efficiency. Standardize systems across plants to support all activities. Drive a culture of accountability and ownership to the shopfloor.
  • Support creation and deployment of best-in-class standards. Provide training materials and expertise for engineering teams.
  • Coordinate maintenance planning globally, optimizing resources and purchases cost-effectively. Execute against consolidated plans, including internal and external resource planning.
  • Lead Global Wellness Centers, responsible for overhauling and bringing critical equipment back to base condition. Establishing critical parts inventory for catastrophic breakdowns.
  • Manage annual global capital budgets of $150M - $200M. Oversee three regional Wellness Center P&Ls, making strategic decisions based on EVA and cost optimization.
  • Lead global spare parts reduction strategy, collaborating with Procurement to establish optimum inventory levels and standardize store room design.
  • Lead Preventative Maintenance program to ensure compliance with Global Maintenance Standards across all plants.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to maximize resource use and improve equipment reliability through Wellness Events and Optimized Maintenance strategy.
  • Harmonize regional engineering resources in implementing global standards across safety, sustainability, capital management, and maintenance.
  • Develop and communicate standardized asset utilization and equipment maintenance standards for new and existing plants globally as a key member of the global engineering leadership team

  • This role will be based in global headquarters in Westminster, CO. Relocation will be considered.
  • Hiring Salary Range: $147,200 - $215,240 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
