The Director, Global Implementation Science will support and/or lead the scientific strategy and operational execution of implementation science studies. This role designs, directs, and interprets mixed‑methods research to generate pragmatic evidence that accelerates adoption, scale-up, and real‑world optimization of novel HIV products across diverse settings. Requirements

  • Advanced degree with scientific leadership experience in implementation science, health services or real‑world research
  • 3 plus years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in HIV prevention or HIV care research and programmes
  • Experience leading implementation science, health services research, clinical or mixed‑methods studies
  • Scientific communication skills, with experience producing manuscripts, reports and scientific presentations
  • Experience building cross‑functional partnerships and managing external vendors/partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scientific design and methodological frameworks for implementation science (IS) and real‑world evidence studies, ensuring rigor and relevance to program and commercial needs.
  • Develop and apply mixed‑methods approaches (qualitative, quantitative, hybrid designs) and appropriate implementation science frameworks (e.g., CFIR, RE‑AIM).
  • Oversee data analysis plans, interpretation of results, and production of deliverables including clinical study reports, evidence summaries, manuscripts, posters, and abstracts.
  • Translate IS findings into actionable recommendations for adoption, scale‑up, and programme optimization across global markets.
  • Partner closely with cross‑functional teams to align evidence generation with strategy and decision needs.
  • Manage scientific contributions from external partners, vendors, and agencies; oversee quality, timelines and budgets for contracted research.
  • Guide dissemination strategy for scientific conferences, peer‑review publications, and internal communications to maximize impact and uptake.
  • Mentor and develop team members and represent IS in global evidence‑generation forums.
