About The Position

The Director of Global Deal Desk and Order Management at Confluent is responsible for leading and mentoring a global team of commercial and operational experts. This role involves serving as a trusted advisor to sales leadership on quote to cash processes and deal best practices, ensuring consistency in deal structures and pricing strategies across various sales models.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, or Order Management
  • 5+ years of people management experience in a Deal Desk, Order Management, or Sales Operations
  • Experience supporting and advising SaaS and On-Prem Sales teams
  • Experience partnering closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, other SalesOps team members, Legal, and Finance colleagues
  • Experience working with remote sales and business partner teams
  • Dedication to excellent customer service
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate information across teams
  • Proven project management experience and ability to own and run deals end-to-end
  • Organized, strong attention to detail, and goal-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and multitask effectively
  • Innate curiosity and not afraid to ask thoughtful questions
  • Energetic, dedicated, and ambitious
  • Salesforce CPQ experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of ACV / TCV / REN

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive consistency on established deal structures, pricing strategies, and non-standard commercial terms for Cloud, On-prem SaaS and Hybrid proposals
  • Partner with Revenue and Legal teams to craft contractual language to ensure transactions comply with revenue recognition and business operational policies
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key cross-functional partners/back office teams, serving as a primary point of contact for Deal Desk team for questions or concerns, minimizing need for escalation
  • Manage complex, nonstandard deals with multiple cross-functional partners
  • Maintain, implement and communicate a global opportunity bookings policy and leverage for efficient order processing
  • Establish and track performance metrics to ensure the team meets or exceeds goals
  • Consistently meet your Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and continuously find ways to drive efficiencies within your business
