About The Position

The Director, Global BioPharma Sales is responsible for managing existing and cultivating new relationships at selected global biopharma accounts. You will be the primary point of contact for global initiatives at these selected accounts and will collaborate closely with the regional commercial teams to drive market share gains at individual sites. You will be expected to grow sales funnel, revenue, and mindshare at your accounts. This is a highly visible role within the Abcam commercial organization which requires outstanding leadership and communication skills in addition to commercial acumen. This position reports to the Senior Director, Global Biopharma Sales and is part of the Commercial Organization located in Waltham, MA. The position is fully remote and will have a global commercial remit. There is a strong preference for the candidate to reside in Boston, MA. Candidates located in New York, New Jersey, and California will also be considered.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ progressive experience in commercial life science roles
  • Prior experience in strategic partnership/key account management in the life science industry is required
  • Comprehensive understanding of the life sciences industry, products, and services
  • Experienced working in matrix organizations with a cross-functional mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science field

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D.) in a STEM discipline being a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Plan: Develop and execute tailored account plans for strategic BioPharma customers (initiatives, target personas, action plans, account mapping) in partnership with regional commercial teams to accelerate site level adoption and market share gains.
  • Grow: Drive global sales funnel and revenue growth across priority BioPharma accounts, using data driven pipeline management and rigorous opportunity reviews to achieve quarterly and annual targets. Work in collaboration with marketing, product, R&D, and LCP to ensure full realization of customer revenue potential.
  • Engage: Build and nurture senior level relationships (scientific leadership, strategic sourcing/procurement) and serve as executive sponsor to unlock multisite, multiprogram opportunities and long-term partnerships.
  • Lead: Set clear expectations, establishing KPIs, and fostering a culture of performance, accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate: Work across Danaher Life Sciences operating companies to develop joint account strategies and workflow solutions, leveraging the Danaher Business System (DBS) for continuous improvement and customer value.
