This includes effective project tracking, and issue & risk management in collaboration with the Engineering department. Responsible for overseeing the definition and implementation of operations & maintenance manual and associated procedures, ensuring that team members understand and consistently apply Liberty processes and standards to deliver safe and compliant operations services. Collaborate with the other Operating Companies within Liberty Utilities to drive consistency and share of best practice in the operations and design of the gas distribution systems.Accountabilities This role provides direct oversight to multiple managers and supervisors across maintenance, construction, metering. The Director is instrumental in aligning day-to-day operations with strategic initiatives along with budget development, forecasting, and resource allocation which is all essential to meeting both regulatory expectations and internal performance targets, as well as customer field services. Ensures compliance to O&M, Federal and State Laws, local mandates, Safety and Regulatory requirements. Direct liaison for company in all aspects of communication with City & Town Municipalities. Ensures Safety is Priority of Operations at all levels at 100% compliance. Maintain a safe, reliable & efficient distribution system through the proper management of resources, workload and prioritization. Oversees core functions including field operations, emergency response, compliance, and system reliability.  Responsible for the implementation and execution of strategic initiatives and meeting expectations and performance targets. Direct both bargaining and non-bargaining personnel in all activities related to construction maintenance and operations for the gas pipeline system for energy North. Provide positive leadership and direction to direct/indirect support. This includes the encouragement of independent & creative decision making with regard to improving their immediate responsibilities in their own divisions.  Promote customer satisfaction through communication, responsiveness and quality workmanship for all direct reports.                                    

Requirements

  • Education requirement can be met through either formal education or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of experience in natural gas utilities or a related industry (e.g., oil & gas, construction, etc.)
  • 5+ years of people and team leadership experience driving team performance, engagement, and accountability
  • Thorough knowledge of diverse business functions and principles, particularly regulatory and compliance guidelines
