About The Position

The Director of Fund Administration at SS&C Technologies is responsible for overseeing all administration services for a group of clients within the mutual fund industry. This role involves managing a team of fund controllers and analysts, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards, and serving as the primary client contact. The position requires a high level of expertise in business processes and the mutual fund industry, along with managerial responsibilities such as hiring and performance appraisals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management or equivalent business experience.
  • 8+ years accounting and/or business experience in registered investment company industry.
  • Experience in alternative investment/private equity strategy and closed-end/interval funds.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Computer experience (Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work 6 days/month on site in one of the offices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall financial reporting process and coordinate annual audits with independent accountants.
  • Review annual and semi-annual reports for compliance with U.S. GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and review supporting information for SEC Form filings.
  • Prepare and review Board reports and assist in the renewal of client's Fidelity and E&O insurance policies.
  • Attend Board of Director meetings for fund clients as a representative of ALPS.
  • Review and approve annual operating expense budgets and monthly expense payments.
  • Monitor fund expense ratios and ensure they align with projected budgets.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to implement new industry regulations or special projects for client initiatives.
  • Serve in an officer capacity for fund complexes, including as Principal Financial Officer for Sarbanes-Oxley certifications.
  • Conduct managerial duties including hiring, performance appraisals, and career planning.
