You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed. HarbourVest Partners is seeking a Director on the Fund Accounting and Administration team. This role involves leading all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and client reporting tasks for private credit investment vehicles. The Director will also handle cash management, work with external auditors, and manage third-party service providers for credit investment vehicles.

Requirements

  • A technical understanding of US GAAP, it’s application to asset management (specifically private credit funds), and the ability to apply GAAP concepts to sophisticated transactions and complex fund structures
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and is detail oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to multitask are critical
  • Experience in owning the day-to-day operations with fund administrators, including communications for capital calls, distributions, redemptions, and financial reporting and monitoring of critical metrics
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, manage production calendars across multiple participants & interested parties
  • A proactive, can-do attitude to ensure all reporting and deliverables are completed in line with agreed timelines
  • Bachelor's Degree with major in accounting/finance
  • 10 + years of experience in public and/or private accounting focused on the asset management industry, preferably with private credit asset management

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for quarter end close, financial reporting, and capital account statements for your Fund’s
  • Prepare distribution recommendations working closely with portfolio management, investment operations and the treasury function
  • Work closely with various internal partners to ensure an optimal operating model is in place for the credit funds
  • Assist senior management with matters related to closings and terms of legal documents
  • Grow and manage a team dedicated to the accounting and reporting for credit funds
  • Compile and review financial information for purposes of regulatory filings (i.e., Form ADV/PF)
