About The Position

The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) at Arizona State University invites applications for an innovative, visionary, and tech‑savvy leader to serve as Director of the Fulton Schools Career Center. This role is central to shaping the future of employer engagement, career development, and workforce readiness for the largest and most comprehensive engineering program in the United States. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with FSE stakeholders—including development teams, marketing, undergraduate and graduate program directors, faculty, and administrators—to contribute to the overall career readiness of our graduates and to position FSE as a premier source of diverse engineering, computing, and technology talent. A key dimension of this role is leading a strategic, data‑informed employer relations team that expands industry partnerships, deepens corporate engagement, and aligns recruitment pipelines with the rapidly evolving needs of the global workforce. The Director will strategically leverage artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and emerging technologies to develop and deliver an impactful scaled career development services suite. The Director will also play a critical role in advancing industry engagement, statewide economic development initiatives, and university‑wide workforce innovation efforts through a robust and strategically managed employer relations strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership Establish and execute the vision and strategic direction of the Career Center in alignment with FSE and university-wide goals.
  • Oversee a team of career services professionals.
  • Lead hiring, training, development, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and manage the Career Center’s budget, identifying opportunities for strategic investment in innovation and growth.
  • Promote and uphold ethical practices, accessibility, and principles across all services and interactions.
  • Stay informed of emerging standards in career services and workforce development, including AI ethics and digital equity.
  • AI & Technology Integration Evaluate, adopt, and oversee the implementation of AI-powered career platforms, predictive analytics, and personalized learning tools to scale services and improve outcomes.
  • Leverage machine learning insights to anticipate job market trends, recommend career pathways, and support domestic and international students in identifying relevant opportunities.
  • Program Innovation & Execution Design and implement innovative career readiness initiatives tailored to engineering, computing, and technology students.
  • Facilitate access to scalable experiential learning opportunities such as internships, co‑ops, micro‑internships, and research opportunities.
  • International Student Career Success Develop targeted strategies and resources to support the career readiness and employment outcomes of international students, including employer education and culturally responsive programming.
  • Employer Engagement & Partnerships Develop and execute a comprehensive employer relations strategy that aligns with FSE’s academic strengths and workforce development goals.
  • Expand employer engagement across local, national, and global markets, with a focus on high-growth industries and emerging technology sectors.
  • Cultivate, sustain, and grow strategic partnerships with employers, alumni, and industry leaders to expand experiential learning opportunities and full-time hiring pipelines for engineering and technology students.
  • Oversee the employer relations team’s outreach, relationship management, and partnership cultivation to increase recruitment activity.
  • Provide guidance to employers on effective recruitment strategies, inclusive hiring practices, and engagement approaches that support diverse student populations, including international students.
  • Collaborate with corporate partners to design customized engagement opportunities such as career fairs, tech talks, hackathons, on-campus recruiting- which strengthen talent pipelines and deepen their connection to FSE students.
  • Monitor employer satisfaction, hiring trends, and engagement metrics to continuously refine employer relations strategy and ensure high-value partnerships.
  • Work closely with development, corporate engagement, and economic development teams to coordinate employer interactions and ensure a unified, strategic approach to industry partnerships.
  • Represent FSE in regional and national employer networks, workforce councils, and industry consortiums to elevate the school’s visibility and strengthen employer pipelines.
  • Data-Driven Planning & Evaluation Utilize advanced analytics and labor market data to continuously assess program effectiveness, identify workforce needs, optimize resource allocation, and inform strategic planning.
  • Prepare data-rich reports for institutional stakeholders, accrediting bodies, rankings agencies, and employer partners.
