Overall Purpose The Director of Fraud Risk Management is responsible for defining and implementing the fraud strategy, fraud policy requirements, and fraud prevention processes for Early Warning’s next-generation cross-border payments platform. In this role, you will stand up a modern fraud prevention program for a new, global product. You will work cross-functionally with leadership, product, fraud management, and other teams, including other financial institutions and external vendors.

Requirements

  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 12 or more years of progressive experience in Fraud Risk Management, Decision Science, and/or Data Science
  • Experience with digital banking, payments, and/or payment networks
  • Proven track record of supporting new product launches from a fraud prevention perspective
  • SQL/SAS competencies or comparable data analytics skills
  • Proven track record of converting concepts to analysis to cases for change
  • Exceptional executive presence, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with digital banking, payments and/or payment networks
  • Experience with financial institutions in the area of fraud risk management

Nice To Haves

  • SAS/SQL or comparable analytic coding certification
  • Experience with two or more financial institutions in the area of fraud risk management
  • Experience in both consumer and commercial banking applications
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the fraud prevention strategy, policy, and execution for Early Warning’s global money movement initiative, ensuring alignment across business, technology, product, and compliance organizations.
  • May lead a team of direct reports.
  • Define and negotiate fraud prevention controls such as scores, rules, policies, and experiences, to deliver the optimal balance of risk, expense and experiences for clients, consumers and partners in the network.
  • Lead the creation, implementation and appropriate usage of these controls.
  • Deliver consistent communications to internal and external stakeholders regarding emerging risks, observed trends and related opportunities.
  • Lead the creation, implementation and appropriate usage of data driven insights for constant monitoring of effectiveness, efficiency and opportunities in the application of scores, rules and logic in the execution of managing fraud risk.
  • Interact, and influence based on data driven analysis, with senior executives both internal to the company and those of the participating financial institutions.
  • Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
