The Director of the Counseling Center at Marshall University is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the administration, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all services provided by the center. The Director will also be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing training and educational outreach programs to provide effective and appropriate services to students. Crisis intervention is a critical component of the role, as the Director must ensure that students' needs are met during emergencies, coordinating and providing crisis intervention services as necessary. The Director will serve on various university committees, including the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), to provide input and support to other units within the university. Regular staff meetings will be conducted to promote communication within the unit, and the Director will monitor clinical records to ensure compliance and effectiveness. The Director will also play a vital role in recruiting, selecting, training, and supervising Counseling Center personnel, ensuring continuity of care for students.
