About The Position
The Director of FitWell is responsible for the establishment of an integrative and comprehensive approach to physical health and well-being by providing institutional leadership to advance strategic initiatives on exercise, health and wellness through programmatic and content development, collaborative institutional partnerships, and effective communication strategies. Reporting to the Executive Director of Wellness, the Director of FitWell provides leadership and has operational oversight for Fitwell, including services for students, faculty and staff as well as for our fee-based membership, FitComm. This position is responsible for hiring and program creation, assessment, and improvement. The Director of FitWell is also responsible for the creation of a strong sense of community in the gym by building campus relationships and creating programming designed to increase a sense of community and inclusivity. This position works with considerable independence and self-direction. Only the general direction and scope of the work to be accomplished are discussed with the supervisor. The staff member is expected to independently carry out position duties and understand what is expected and how to do it.
