About The Position

Make a difference. The Director Financial Reporting is responsible for leading the preparation, accuracy, and integrity of the company’s financial reporting, including SEC filings, in compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. Provide strategic leadership and oversight of financial reporting processes, internal controls, and technical accounting to inform executive leadership and internal & external stakeholders. In this role you will: Prepare and review Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) financial filings required of the Company, including but not limited to SEC forms 10-K, 10-Q, and S-1. Maintain company books and records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Perform and review account analyses and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with SEC regulations related to disclosure controls and internal control over financial reporting. Assist in the management of the external audit engagement. Research and implement new accounting standards and manage complex accounting issues. Perform all aspects of workforce management for assigned direct reports, including employee selection, training, mentoring, rewarding, performance management, and succession planning. Oversee the Graybar stock issuance, reconciliation, and dividend process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting, financial reporting, or auditing experience required
  • Four-year degree required: Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of Securities and Exchange Commission regulations
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, including Section 404
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related applications
  • Knowledge of SAP HANA S4
  • Decision-making skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Time and deadline management skills
  • Oral and written presentation skills
  • Interpersonal relationship skills

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: 11-15+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or auditing experience
  • Public Accounting Auditing or preparation of SEC-compliant financial statements and other filings.
  • Advanced degree: Master's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
