About The Position

The Director, Financial Aid Compliance at Otis College of Art and Design is responsible for ensuring the institution's adherence to federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies. This role involves overseeing the administration of financial aid programs, implementing compliance strategies, conducting audits, and providing guidance and training to staff to maintain the integrity of financial aid and support students' access to educational funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • FAAC© or similar designation required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial aid administration or compliance is preferred, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • In-depth understanding of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and guidelines, including Title IV compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct audits, interpret complex regulations, and implement compliance strategies effectively.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Experience with student information and imaging systems, COD, NSLDS, and familiarity with EdConnect is required.
  • Must be available to work extended evening and weekend hours when needed.
  • Must be responsive to work-related phone calls and emails during non-business hours on occasion.

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Banner student information system.
  • Knowledge of Dynamic Forms is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce adherence to federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and policies.
  • Manage the administration of financial aid programs, including grants, loans, and scholarships, to ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Perform regular audits and reviews of financial aid practices and processes to identify and address potential compliance issues.
  • Create and update internal policies and procedures related to financial aid compliance and ensure effective communication to staff.
  • Train financial aid staff on compliance requirements, best practices, and changes in regulations.
  • Compile and submit required reports to federal, state, and institutional authorities, including annual compliance reports and financial aid statistics.
  • Analyze the financial aid scholarship matrix and scholarship appeal spending; prepare reports on a weekly, monthly, or semester basis to track spending.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from regulatory agencies, auditors, and internal stakeholders related to financial aid compliance.
  • Stay informed about changes in financial aid regulations and adjust policies and procedures as necessary to maintain compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as admissions and academic advising, to ensure coordinated compliance efforts and support student success.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance-related documentation and correspondence.
