Organization: Finance Academic Enterprise Job Summary: Job Summary: Vanderbilt Health - Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Director of Finance. The Director will provide overall leadership for a unit or department by developing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the activities; preparing operating and capital expenditure budgets; and performing personnel administration functions. Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, including serving as a liaison between Central Finance and the Clinical Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree & 7 years of relevant experience

  • Advanced Schooling (MBA, MHA, Accounting, Finance) & 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Epic Professional Revenue, Sponsored Grants and Contracts

Responsibilities

  • Planning cycles: Compile and consolidate Forecasts
  • Assist with monthly Recruitment planning submissions and monthly approval
  • Own department support, track spending, and commitments.
  • Budget – Coordinate with department and divisions to consolidate and enter to Adaptive Budget system
  • Confirm Labor is assigned appropriately across entities.
  • Collaborate with Office of Sponsored Programs to appropriately project and analyze Sponsored Grants.
  • Align Professional Revenue and related volumes (OR cases, Visits, etc.).
  • All other related budget projects
  • Long range planning
  • General ledger structure changes for Divisions and Department
  • Monthly and Quarterly Reporting and Analysis:
  • Compensation Plans – understand to apply to analysis and planning cycles and knowledgeable of Salary and Benchmark Reporting; FMV Physician Compensation
  • Funds Flow – understand and support calculations as needed and communicate quarterly updates with the department.
  • Professional Revenue allocations: understand and coordinate with Senior Revenue Cycle Advisors and Department on changes and updates.
  • Attend monthly Bill Area Steering Committee meeting and support topics related to Department.
  • Review and analysis of monthly financial metrics/KPIs and reporting; includes reporting to leadership
  • Support for monthly and quarterly Board packages:
  • Month-end close: Responsible for all reporting and variance explanations to include journal entry review
  • Other: Special Projects supporting executive leadership, Core Finance, and Medical Center Operations
