About The Position

The Director of Facilities at Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the operations of the engineering, maintenance, and grounds departments. This role includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing staff and contractors, and maintaining the efficient and safe operation of hospital buildings. The Director will also be involved in budget management and may have additional responsibilities related to security and clinical engineering.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma and degree or certification in a technical trade or field related to facility maintenance and engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of previous hospital engineering management experience.
  • Intermediate level computer experience including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and Building Management Systems.
  • Current Certified Healthcare Facility Manager certification or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, Joint Commission and CMS standards, OSHA, EPA and state and local codes and standards.
  • Experience or working knowledge in all aspects of building trades, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
  • Previous project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and control the operations of the engineering, maintenance, and grounds departments.
  • Complete all duties and functions of the hospital Safety Officer.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, including The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and OSHA.
  • Manage staff and contractors to ensure efficient and safe operation of all hospital buildings.
  • Plan, predict, maintain, and repair building and equipment.
  • Utilize energy management and tracking tools to maintain efficient utility operations.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets.
