About The Position

The Director of Facilities Project Management at the University of West Florida is responsible for overseeing university-wide facilities planning, design, and construction processes. This role involves managing major capital projects and a variety of other projects on the main campus, as well as off-campus projects. The director will ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining compliance with university policies and standards.

Requirements

• Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, architectural planning, and design work.
• Professional engineering or architect license in the State of Florida or a state with reciprocity.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field, and seven or more years of progressively responsible experience.
• Experience with project management and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and coordination of facilities project planning, design, and construction for all current and planned projects.
• Aid and support the Executive Director by preparing documents and reports, developing plans, and formulating budgets.
• Develop project budgets, review financial reports, and ensure compliance with university business policies.
• Evaluate internal processes and implement best practices for continual quality improvement in facilities management.
• Perform comprehensive project management for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with department SOPs.
