About The Position

As the Director of Facilities you are responsible for leading ATI’s national Facilities function, ensuring the safe, compliant, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all clinics and facilities within its 850+ fleet. You will oversee preventive and reactive maintenance, vendor and contractor management, minor capital projects (including clinic refreshes, remodels, and reinvestment programs), and Facilities staff supervision. The Director of Facilities partners closely with cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality facilities outcomes that support clinic performance, patient and employee experience, and ATI brand standards. This role ensures maintenance programs are reliable, scalable, deliver best-in-class value, and are consistent across ATI’s national footprint. The Director of Facilities leads a team of maintenance and project management professionals, oversees national maintenance contracts, manages operational and capex budgets, and ensures compliance with building codes, safety standards, and relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in facilities management for multi-site retail, healthcare, or commercial environments
  • Experience overseeing construction build-outs, renovations, and facility upgrades
  • Demonstrated success managing maintenance vendors and service contracts
  • Experience supervising teams and driving performance outcomes
  • Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), code compliance, and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Facilities Operations & Maintenance Leadership
  • Provide strategic vision for value creation and fleet health improvement. Lead cross-functional alingment and support the approval process. Have a proven history of implementing strategic ideas with measurable results.
  • Lead national preventive and reactive maintenance programs to ensure safe, compliant, efficient clinic operations.
  • Oversee work order management, vendor performance, and timely resolution of facility issues.
  • Maintain ATI facility standards and ensure consistent application of safety, compliance, and operational protocols.
  • Develop, track, and report on KPI’s to measure the delivery of industry leading results.
  • Partner with Operations to manage escalations and mitigate disruption to clinics.
  • Minor Capex Program Management — 25–30%
  • Oversee planning and execution of minor capex projects including refreshes, remodels, and targeted expansions.
  • Review scopes, budgets, schedules, and designs for compliance with ATI standards and operational needs.
  • Manage permitting, vendor coordination, and construction oversight to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Track and report on spend, schedule predictability, and project quality.
  • Vendor & Contract Management
  • Manage national and regional vendors, ensuring service quality, responsiveness, and adherence to SLAs.
  • Lead contract negotiations, renewals, and procurement activities for maintenance and minor construction services.
  • Monitor vendor performance data and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and reliability.
  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight
  • Develop and manage annual Facilities OPEX & CAPEX maintenance budgets and minor CAPEX program budgets.
  • Review and approve invoices, bids, and change orders within delegated authority.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, cost control, and financial transparency for Facilities operations.
  • Team Leadership & Development — 10–15%
  • Lead, coach, and develop Facilities staff, establishing performance expectations and conducting reviews.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training for maintenance personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture aligned with ATI values and clinic support needs.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with Operations, Clinic Development, Facilities, Finance, and PMO to support facility issues and capital planning.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure readiness and compliance with facility-related work.
  • Serve as a key liaison for escalations and communication related to existing clinic conditions and improvement projects.
